It is also used as an accelerator in rubber manufacturing, packaging materials, adhesives, and textiles. Another use of the compound is as a bird and rodent repellent. Ziram is often marketed as a wettable powder or as granules. Granules or grains are sifted into water and agitated prior to application. |
| Usage | Ziram is used for fungicidal control in pome fruit, stone fruit, nuts, vines, vegetables, and ornamentals. In particular, control of scab in apples and pears: Monilia, Alternaria, Septoria, peach leaf curl, shot-hole, rusts, black rot and anthracnose. Also used as a wildlife repellent, when smeared as a paste onto tree trunks or sprayed on to ornamentals, dormant fruit trees, and other crops. |
