Thiacloprid is an agonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. Consequently, there is no cross-resistance to insecticides from the pyrethroid, organophosphate or carbamate families and thus thaicloprid can be recommended for inclusion in insect resistance mangement strategies.
