Indoxacarb is an oxadiazine pesticide acts against lepidopteran larvae. It is also used as the active ingredient in the f commercial pesticides.
Its main mode of action is via blocking of neuronal sodium channels.This pesticide should be used with caution since some insects such as the oriental tobacco budworm (Helicoverpa assulta) become resistant when exposed.
Indoxacarb is the active ingredient in a number of household insecticides, including cockroach and ant baits, and can remain active after digestion.

| Mode of Action | 1. Insecticide Indoxacarb is a non-systemic insecticide and is considered reduced risk pesticide by the U.S.EPA (EPA Fact sheet,2000).
2. The insecticidal activity occurs via blockage of the sodium channels in the insect nervous system and the mode of entry is via the stomach and contact routes. 3. The result is impaired nerve function, feeding cessation, paralysis, and death. |
