Cyromazine is a triazine insect growth regulator used as an insecticide. It is a cyclopropyl derivative of melamine. Cyromazine works by affecting the nervous system of the immature larval stages of certain insects.
In veterinary medicine, cyromazine is used as an ectoparasiticide.
Cyromazine is a low-toxic insecticide of the insect growth regulator class, with very strong selectivity, and is mainly active against Diptera insects. The mechanism of action is to make the larvae and pupae of Diptera insects deform in morphology, and the emergence of adults is incomplete or inhibited. The drug has contact killing and stomach toxicity, and has strong systemic conductivity. It has a longer duration of effect but a slower speed of action. Cyromazine has no toxic and side effects to humans and livestock and is safe for the environment.
